Nature fotography
Welcome to my website "Nature fotography", with pictures of among others: landscapes, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, plants, mushrooms, shells and fossils.
From in early age I'm interested in everything that grows and blooms. Everything in nature, from large to small, depends on eachother. When one species goes bad, it effects the other species. If one small link disappears, the entire chain can collapse. For example, flowers can not do without insects and insects need flowers to survive. Birds eat seeds, snails and insects. Mushrooms are not only the scavenger of organic material, but also serve as food for insects, snails and mammels.
We often spent our holidays on one of the Wadden islands. That's where my hobby "Collecting Shells" started. During the years I have built up a large collection. The shells and fossiles depicted are my own finds, except for a few specimes. In these cases this is stated.
Birds have always fascinated me in particular. With some members of the local birdwatch, I have coordinated the survey and protection of meadow birds for several years. Besides that I do BMP-counts and water bird counts. Once every two years,in autumn, we make an excursion abroad with a group of birdwatchers to admire the bird migration. Falsterbo in Sweden is our favorite location, but we also visited places as Helgoland, Rügen, Mön, Jutland, Barth, Cap Griz Nez and and Ückeritz.
I always felt the need to capture all that beauty in nature and make pictures of it. My first reflex camera was a Russian Zenit, with a weight of 1 kg. When counting birds I use a telescope, with which I also can make pictures using an adapter (digiscoping). In recent years I increasingly use an SLR camera with telelens. At the moment I use a Nikon 500mm. 1:5.6E for bird fotografy
On this website I would like to show all those beautiful things in nature around us. I hope you will enjoy the pictures. If you have any questions or comments, please send me an email via the contactpage. Also a message in my guestbook I will highly appreciate.
